An Only Child Takes on Middle Child.

Since Middle Child’s inception in late 2017, it has been nothing but a center city standout. It’s a spot where you can go and get a high quality meal with fresh ingredients all for under twelve-ish bucks. Ya that’s right, an amazing dine in or take out sandwich shop smack dab in center city for an extremely reasonable price. Matt Cahn, a Cherry Hill native, who attended school in Philly (East Falls) knows his “ins and outs” about the Philadelphia food scene. He wanted to make a comfortable place that encapsulated some of the great eateries/diners that have fallen in Philly. So, we got what is now known as Middle Child. I would explain this place as fun, homey, one of a kind, and laid back with original and chill vibes. It does have a “Court Street Grocer” feel and that can be attributed to the time Matt has put in while working with them in NYC. The menu options range from breakfast platters and salads to Ruebens, turkey clubs, and soups. All of which are freaking phenomenal. Now, it’s rare that I try everything a place has to offer, but Middle Child will leave you wanting more and more of their menu every time. The servings are hearty, and the food comes out fast. However, like all places during peak hours, be prepared to wait. But keep in mind, each dish is designed to be ready within 10 minutes, so if it’s that big of a deal, call ahead. What would I recommend? Everything, and that is no joke. Pro tips: if you get the breakfast platter, order hash browns. If you get one of the breakfast sammies, order hashbrowns. If you get any lunch sandwiches, order hash browns. I think you get the point, ORDER HASH BROWNS! Your experience will be awesome each and every time you stop by, so bet on that. They have something special going on in that center city shop so go try it out. I Highly recommend this place, and it is regarded as one of the best places to eat in the city
