Remember senior week? Neither do we. So we had to make another trip to the famous Fractured Prune in Maryland to try a batch of "always hot doughnuts."
Our box of happiness contained an array of sweet and uniquely flavored doughnuts including blueberry, carnival (with sprinkles), chocolate covered cherry (with chocolate chips), Oreo, s'mores and strawberry shortcake.

Forget Sheetz and Wawa, Fractured Prune needs to be number one on your list of made-to-order favorites. As soon as you walk into a Fractured Prune, you are greeted with a list of 19 glazes and 13 toppings, along with some specialty selections, to create your own box. You have the option to either rattle off your choices to the cashier or you can take some time to deliberate what flavors you need to taste with your friends and make the selections on a piece of paper. Once you are ready to order, you better prepare yourself for the "always hot doughnuts." The staff wastes no time on preparing your order. The fun part; you get to watch it all happen! From the doughnut holes being prepared and placed into an oven to having them dunked into glazes and toppings, you get a front row seat to a pretty sweet cooking demo.
We were barely out the door before we started grabbing at the doughnuts to get a bite. Immediately you can smell how good they are so it is easy to convince yourself to devour a box of six in under two minutes. We took a bite of each doughnut option and they were all insanely good. We can't even list a favorite! Plus, they were so warm it made the overall taste even better than if they were served at room temperature. We ended up eating four doughnuts before we got to our car which was only a block away. Whoops.
Blueberry, sprinkles, cookies, chocolate, bacon, honey, mint, vanilla and marshmallow are only a few of the flavors and toppings you can get. If you are close to a Fractured Prune or willing to take a little road trip to get to one, we say go for it!We can promise you won't be disappointed!
