BESFREN NYC has been on my list of top cookie destinations to visit for ages. Say the name out loud and you'll find yourself repeating it over and over again. It's something about the spelling and how it sounds like "best friend" that makes it sound intriguing to say. Anyway, I finally made my way into the Big Apple to sink my teeth into their famous Triple Chocolate Chip Cookie. I quickly discovered this bakery is by far one of my favorite cookie stops especially since the cookies are baked fresh daily. Plus, the bakers make sure to pack the cookie with tons of chocolate chips so every bite is filled with a gooey chocolaty flavor.
The tale of the BESFREN shop is a unique one as it involves two rabbits living on the moon who spend their days pounding away at sweet rice to make specialty Korean rice cakes. It's a crazy story; I encourage you to read it for yourself.
But with so many sweet options, the BESFREN bakery team has plenty of hands on deck to contribute to the tasty menu including French New Yorker, Céline Legros and macaroon connoisseur, Dan Cohen.
