"Once in a Blue Moon"

Updated: Apr 28, 2020

So, once in a blue moon, we are able to make our way down to "The Blue Moon Cafe" in Baltimore for brunch. Sarah Simington (the owner) has created a spot where you can come and expect nothing less than a "BAD ASS BREAKFAST". You walk in the door, and it immediately screams creativity, and rock and roll. The vibe is insane here. All the artwork that lines the walls tell a story with energy for the upcoming culinary experience you are about to receive. The menu is huge, and so are the portions, and I mean it. This is a spot where the food comes in huge servings, but actually tastes good. That is a hard combo to find. You can start with a biscuit, eggs benny, pancakes, omelette, or anything in-between; however, there is one thing you MUST get. That is their famous "Captain Crunch French Toast Stack". This is truly amazing and, you can literally taste how much heart the kitchen puts into it with every bite you take. It has an airy interior with a crisp outside shell. People, it straight up taste like a bowl of cereal. If the picture can speak, it would sing a song of love and peace, or at least that's what you feel is being sang to you as you eat it. There are actually 2 locations: 1. The OG in Fells Point- 1621 Aliceanna Street, Baltimore, MD 2. "Blue Moon Too" at 1024 Light Street, Baltimore, MD. You'll find both locations open daily 7am-3pm (OG location is open 24hrs on Saturday and Sunday). I don't say this often, but this is a bucket list eatery, and that French toast stack is an absolute MUST.
