"Holy shit."
Yes, "holy shit" is a pretty blunt statement, but it is the only thing we were able to say after taking a bite out of these bad a$$ banana walnut pancakes from Brunoise in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We were lucky enough to discover Brunoise in the Smallman Galley located right in Pittsburgh's lively Strict District. We're sad to report, the time for Brunoise expired in the Galley, but we hope to see this hot spot back in the Pitt market soon since their pancakes are BOMB.
The smell alone of these pancakes made us fall in love. And we thank Chef Ryan Peters for that. Chef Ryan has successfully created a delicious recipe that was served up in an electric setting. We always found him behind the glass-lined counters whipping up pancakes and other delectable dishes. Our favorite part about the pancakes was the syrup. It had this crazy memorizing taste complimented with grilled walnuts and bananas.
These are some pretty damn special pancakes. Honestly, we are happy to make the four hour drive to town to say hello to Chef Ryan and devour the banana walnut specialty.
